Agenda overview – North America Forum 2020

The GISF North America Forum is a two-day event for security focal points in the non-profit sector. The event offers opportunities for expert learning and peer-to-peer networking. Topics and themes will include: Organizational Resilience, Security Risk Management from the Local Partners Perspective, Presentation of a Case Study, Priority setting for North American Organizations and more!

Day One: Wednesday 21st October 2020, 9:00 AM ET – 3:30 PM ET
Day Two: Thursday 22nd October 2020, 9:00 AM ET – 1:00 PM ET
(Click the link above for an overview of the agenda)

GISF is an independent NGO peer support network established in 2006 to provide a platform for global security focal points to share experiences, knowledge and learning. Since then, our membership has expanded to include development and human rights organizations as well as traditional humanitarian members. Over the past 14 years, GISF has created a centre of excellence that gathers and disseminates good practice in security risk management to improve policy and practice. We collaborate with a range of experts within and beyond the sector to ensure a coordinated approach and maximize gain for the whole sector.

The forum will provide an opportunity for GISF members and prospective members to learn from one another and to engage in deeper discussion and learnings on critical topics facing humanitarian security risk management. This event will also be an opportunity for North American organizations to share input with GISF. While virtual, this event is designed to be interactive.

This event is aimed at the security focal points of not-for-profit organizations that operate in several countries. If you would like to attend, please register your interest here.
