Description | Be prepared for travelling and working in high & extreme risk areas When you are being deployed and working in high and extreme risk areas, your personal safety and security are vital. You want to focus on the mission and therefore you need the skills to operate safely in these areas. The Advanced HEAT Course (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) will give you a rational attitude and self-confidence, thus increasing your personal and professional effectiveness in the field. During this HEAT training you learn and practice the skills needed to operate safely in high & extreme risk areas. Regular personal feedback is given to enhance your personal learning in a safe learning environment. After completion of the course, you will be able to handle extreme situations with self-confidence. This course is based on the Entri/CSDC curriculum. You can join this course without pre-training Practice through hyper-realistic simulations: The course methods are based on role-playing, hyper-realistic simulations and a continuous storyline. You will be submerged in a scenario for four days. The course is situated in a war-torn village on a professional exercise centre. You will be part of a team that will assess a crisis situation in a foreign country. The scenario starts as soon as you arrive at the course location and ends after four days. Theory and practical learning are combined with situation updates that will require action from your team. You will travel to several locations and will be confronted with ethical dilemmas, hostile situations and constant pressure due to insecurity. Safe learning environment: A safe learning environment is maintained at all times during the course. Your personal safety and well-being are our primary concerns. There are more than 20 different trainers and actors involved in this course. There are always professionals present for supervision and to offer advice. Before and during the course, you can share prior experiences with the trainers. They can discreetly adapt the course for you to make sure this will be the best and safest learning experience you have ever had. And if you need extra personal guidance, we will make time for it. Your own professional medical kit and instruction cards: During the course, you will receive a medical emergency kit to take along on your next missions. The content of the kit is specially selected for remote areas without nearby proper medical facilities. During the Medical Accident Control module, you will be taught how to use these medical materials. You will also receive instruction cards. On these waterproof and compact information cards, you will find a summary of the most important modules of the HEAT course. You can carry these cards with you on your mission and use them as a quick reminder in case the need arises. Topics: Acceptance: You can join this course without pre-training Breakdown of time: 30% theory, 30% practice, 40% simulations Group size: maximum 14 (during simulations maximum of 7) Dietary wishes: vegetarian/vegan/other meals Certification: on completion of the course you will receive a certificate.
