GISF's NGO Security Toolbox is now available in French, supporting local organisations with essential tools to strengthen security risk management practice

We’re excited to announce that GISF’s NGO Security Toolbox is now available in French! This resource offers local organisations the guidance, tools, and resources needed to integrate good security risk management practices into their field operations.

The translation was made possible as part of the PARTAGE project (Promotion d’un Accès Renforcé aux Technologies et aux bonnes pratiques pour une Gestion Équitable des risques de sécurité pour les OSCs dans le Sahel Central). The project is funded by the European Union. The initiative focuses on improving security risk management for local civil society organisations (CSOs) in the Central Sahel.

Dimitri Kotsiras, GISF’s Research Manager and Programmes Manager, emphasised the significance of this new translation. “By making the NGO Security Toolbox accessible in French, we’re bridging language gaps and enhancing support for local organisations operating in challenging environments,” he said. “This not only strengthens GISF’s commitment to global security, but also empowers local NGOs with essential skills to operate safely and effectively.”

The project is led by INTERSOS in collaboration with Bioforce, GISF, Insecurity Insight, and two local NGO coordination platforms. It supports CSOs in complex, high-risk operating environments where humanitarian access is increasingly restricted.

The project has three pillars:

  • Improving Accessto resources and tailored advice
  • Building Capacitythrough training and micro-financing
  • Advocacy for Shared Responsibilitybetween local and international actors.

This comprehensive approach aims to create a sustainable model for CSOs in restricted operating environments.

The release of the French Toolbox expands the reach of GISF’s resources, allowing even more organisations to benefit from essential security tools. You can access the English and French versions of the Toolbox on the landing page here.
