Mark Lowcock Speaks on the Global Humanitarian System

Mark Lowcock, the U.N. Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, spoke this month at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C.

On the subject of the global humanitarian system, he discussed a number of themes currently facing staff in the sector such as; handling counter-terrorism legislation, navigating areas with multiple proscribed groups, and managing the risk of aid diversion. Mr. Lowcock also discussed the importance of innovation in solving complex challenges, such as the use of predictive analytics.
