Training of Trainers (ToT)

Access to high-quality security standards includes having a local capacity of trainers. A Training of Trainers (ToT) is a strategic investment in building sustainable, long-term security capacity internally. By equipping staff to train their colleagues, organizations strengthen internal expertise. A ToT allows your staff to grow and develop themselves, and it allows your organization to build a sustainable model to fulfil your duty of care.
In collaboration with Oxfam Novib and Dorcas, Global Risk Advice will deliver a joint-organization 5-Day ToT in Amman, Jordan, from November 22-26. Organizations are invited to enroll staff to participate. By bringing together participants from multiple organizations, training costs are shared, making the program a cost-effective way to strengthen internal security capacity while encouraging peer learning and the exchange of experiences.
A few of the topics we will explore in this training are:

• Training methods used to explore certain topics and how to deliver them.
• Adult learning styles and how they impact the effectiveness of a training.
• Choosing a training that is appropriate and the role of the organization in ensuring that training is the best option for improvement.
• Designing a case-study or role-play.
• Dealing with difficult behavior during a training in a positive way.
• How to ensure participant skill-building.

These, and many more elements will be addressed during this training to ensure that the aspiring trainer can deliver an effective, enriching and impactful training. Whether starting as a new trainer, or experienced, this training gives both fresh insights and tried and true methods for optimal training and allows your staff to practice them in a safe and guided setting.

The training spans 5 days and accommodation for 5 nights and all meals are included in the overall costs. The training will take place near Amman, Jordan. (Excluded in the costs: travel-related costs to Amman and visa-related costs).

Participants will also receive access to the latest Training of Trainers Manual, which serves as a practical guide full of tools, tips and how-to’s for choosing, preparing and executing a training.
