GISF is governed by its board of (non-executive) Directors, appointed for their wide-ranging expertise. They take guidance from the GISF Steering Group, a member-elected committee.

GISF's Steering Group
Helps to represent the voice of GISF’s members within the organisation’s strategic direction. They are also responsible for reviewing and approving new membership applications.
GISF’s legal status
GISF is an independent Community Interest Company (CIC/a not for profit organisation) incorporated in England. As a CIC, our Articles of Association function as our constitution, which are legally binding and publicly available. Our constitution is structured around our status as a “company limited by guarantee with a large membership”. Membership gives organisations a formal voice in the direction and governance of GISF.
