Description

US policymakers increasingly recognise diversity, equity, and inclusion as a vital component of effective development policy. As a major multilateral stakeholder, and the world’s largest bilateral foreign assistance donor, the US will be a key player in driving the global development sector to more ardently adopt inclusive and equitable practices.

Having already voiced a commitment to gender, racial and economic equality, the incoming Biden administration has set the stage for a potentially intersectional approach in its development policy. Following the publication of both Women of Colour Advancing Peace and Security’ (WCAPS) report, Top Issues for Women of Colour in Peace and Security, and the Center for Global Development’s White House and The World, please join us for an event that will explore recommendations for how a new administration can translate early commitments into concrete actions putting DEI at the center of global development policy.

Panel Discussion, featuring:

  • Dr. Christina Bache, Visiting Fellow, The London School of Science

  • Dr. Ashley Milton, Managing Principal, She Grows IT

  • Megan O’Donnell, Assistant Director, Gender, Center for Global Development

  • Dr. Mischa Thompson, Policy Advisor, Commission on Security & Cooperation in Europe

  • Zakiya Carr Johnson, Founder& Principal, Odara Solutions
