A Toolkit for Urban Resilience in Situations of Chronic Violence

In this toolkit, Diane E. Davis (2015) analyses eight-case studies of cities suffering from a history of violence (Johannesburg, Karachi, Kigali, Managua, Medellín, Mexico City, Nairobi, and São Paolo), identifying promising practices promoting urban resilience, as well as the obstacles.

This toolkit is derived from the report “Urban Resilience in Situations of Chronic Violence” by Diane E. Davis.

The full report, the case studies, and other resources are available at http://web.mit.edu/cis/urban_resilience.html
